WHAT IS MARKETPLACE?
Our Food Pantry is stocked with non-perishable food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, eggs, and milk. You are free to choose items that you are most in need of and that you and your family like best. In addition, we also have a linen section and limited household products available. All items in the Food Pantry are free of charge.
Our Clothing Depot is full of gently-used, seasonal clothing, shoes and accessories for all ages. Each item in the Clothing Depot costs $0.50. All proceeds from the Clothing Depot are used to purchase supplies for the Food Pantry.
Once you have checked in at our registration desk, you are welcome to grab a coffee or tea and some baked goods, free of charge, from our Care Café. You can sit back and relax at our tables in the Atrium while you wait for your turn in the Food Pantry/Clothing Depot.
If you have children, they can play in our Kids’ Zone where we have toys, games and crafts set up for them. Volunteers are available to help in the Kids’ Zone, however, parents are responsible for supervising their children at all times during Marketplace. The Kids’ Zone is only available during our Saturday Marketplace.
Our Employment Services volunteer is available to meet with interested guests at Saturday and Monday Marketplaces. Throughout the month, she helps guests write/structure their resumes and connects them with resources and job opportunities in the city that suit their strengths and professional skills.
