COOKING ON A BUDGET:
We cook an affordable, nutritious meal together and sample a portion of what we have made for lunch. At the end of each class, participants are provided with a meal to take home and share with their family and friends.
Celebrate the diversity of class members by learning how to make meals native to our members’ place of origin, as members take a turn teaching the class. This class is a great place to try new foods while also practicing speaking English in an informal environment.
CONVERSATIONAL ENGLISH CIRCLES:
Our Conversational English Circles are small groups of people who meet in their own neighbourhoods to practice speaking English in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
Our Employment Services volunteer is available to meet with interested guests at Saturday and Monday Marketplaces. Throughout the month, she helps guests write/structure their resumes and connects them with resources and job opportunities in the city that suit their strengths and professional skills. Please visit our Employment Service desk at Marketplace or email/call us for more information.
We provide referrals to Elim Counselling Services, a professionally accredited Christian counselling organization that is open to everyone, regardless of faith background. An Elim counsellor is on-site at Saturday and Monday Marketplaces.
Are you interested in learning more about God? Join us on Wednesday nights at 6:30PM in the Bethel Pentecostal Church library as we explore stories from the Bible and learn more about how they practically apply to our lives today.
